Program Timeline & Course Schedule

YEAR 1: RESIDENCY*

SUMMER 1

  • Online coursework
  • Field experience in Milwaukee Public Schools

SCHOOL YEAR

  • Full-time teaching residency at a Milwaukee Public School
  • Courses in Madison one day a week

SUMMER 2

  • Online coursework

YEARS 2-4: SERVICE AGREEMENT

Full-time teaching special education in Milwaukee Public Schools

There will be three cohorts of the TRP Program. Because TRP is a 14-month program, each cohort begins and ends in the summer. When you apply to UW-Madison, please make sure to apply to the summer term that coincides with the year you will begin your Residency.  For example, if you intend to begin your Residency in the fall of 2024, you will apply to UW-Madison for Summer Term 2024.   • TRP Cohort 1: Enter Summer Term 2024- Finish Summer 2025
  • TRP Cohort 2: Enter Summer Term 2025- Finish Summer 2026
  • TRP Cohort 3: Enter Summer Term 2026- Finish Summer 2027
