SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Become a special educator and change lives in 14 months

TRP Residents become special education teachers and support youth with disabilities to reach their full potential. In 14 months, TRP Residents graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a master’s degree in special education and Wisconsin Cross-Categorical Special Education licensure. Program elements include: 

• Generous living stipend 
• Full academic year teaching residency in Milwaukee Public Schools
• Eligible for the Teacher Pledge, which covers the cost of in-state tuition
• Graduate coursework offered at convenient times, leading to a master’s degree from UW-Madison
• Three-year commitment to teach in MPS upon completion of the Residency year
• Ongoing induction support provided
